The TNT Cheer Competitive All Star Cheer program teaches athletes self-control, self-discipline, respect, athleticism and dynamite speed.  For the 2018-2019 competitive season we have the following teams:

  • Sparklers Mini Level 1
  • Rockets – Youth Level 1
  • Cherry Bombs – Youth Prep Level 2.1
  • Blaze – Youth Level 2
  • Atomics – Junior Level 3
  • C-4 – Senior Coed Level 4

Evaluations

We do not hold traditional “tryouts” as we have a team for EVERYONE at TNT Cheer regardless of experience or skills. For those who are interested in joining TNT Cheer’s All Star Cheer program, a required evaluation will be held to determine the proper team placement and ensure your athlete is on a team that offers them the most success. This is also an opportunity for you and your athlete to ensure TNT Cheer is the right fit for your family. Athletes are to wear a black sports bra/tank top/t-shirt, black shorts, clean cheer or tennis shoes, have hair tied back in a ponytail, have all jewelry removed, and bring a water bottle. Athletes must be registered online at www.tntcheer.com for the evaluation which will be held at the following times:

  • Saturday, April 13th 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM athletes ages 8 to 12 as of August 31, 2019
  • Saturday, April 13th 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM athletes ages 13 to 18 as of August 31, 2019
  • Saturday, April 13th 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM athletes ages 5 to 7 as of August 31, 2019

In addition, any athlete ages 7 to 18 who would like to be considered as a flyer on a team, a required flyer specific evaluation will be held to determine proper team placement. Athletes are to wear a black sports bra/tank top/t-shirt, black shorts, clean cheer or tennis shoes, have hair tied back in a ponytail, have all jewelry removed, and bring a water bottle. Athletes must be registered online at www.tntcheer.com for the evaluation which will be held at the following times:

  • Saturday, April 20th 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM athletes ages 8 to 18 as of August 31, 2019

We also offer Open Gyms at TNT Cheer. The cost for members of TNT Cheer and those who registered for evaluations are $5 per Open Gym to be paid in cash. Open Gyms are held as follows:

  • Wednesday, April 3rd 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
  • Wednesday, April 10th 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
  • Wednesday, April 17th 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
  • Wednesday, April 24th 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

All Star Team Placement will be announced via email on Sunday, April 28th at 7:00 PM.

A Mandatory Parent and Athlete Meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 30th at 6:30 PM at TNT Cheer to go over team placement and the 2019-2020 TNT Cheer All Star Handbook. In addition, this is your athlete’s opportunity to commit to the 2019-2020 TNT Cheer All Star program.

Skill Levels:

  • Level 1: Back walkovers, roundoff backbend kickovers, cartwheel back walkovers
  • Level 2: Standing back handsprings, roundoff multiple back handsprings
  • Level 3: Standing multiple back handsprings, roundoff back tuck, roundoff back handspring back tuck
  • Level 4: Standing back tuck, standing back handspring back tuck, roundoff back handspring layout
  • Level 5: Jumps to standing tuck, roundoff back handspring full, standing back handspring to full

Age Levels:

Teams are also determined by age. Some exceptions to age are made depending on the athlete’s maturity level and the specific needs of the teams. Mini: Ages 5-8 as of 8/31/2019 Youth: Ages 5-11 as of 8/31/2019 Junior: Ages 5-14 as of 8/31/2019 Senior: Ages 11-18 as of 8/31/2019

Cost

AT TNT Cheer, we use a budget billing payment system for our Competitive All Star program. This program includes:

  • all monthly tuition
  • a tumbling class
  • camp fees
  • practice outfits
  • USASF membership fee
  • competition fees
  • coaches’ fees
  • choreography and music

Practice

For the safety of our athletes, TNT Cheer has the following policy:

  • Approved attire generally consists of t-shirts, tank tops, sports bras, spandex, shorts, leggings, and a cheer bow
    • No sweatshirts or sweatpants will be allowed
    • No apparel supporting any other local gym will be allowed – this include all of our local competitors
  • A clean pair of tennis shoes are required that are to only be worn at TNT Cheer
  • No jewelry
  • Finger nails must be kept cut such that the tips cannot be seen when looking at the palm side of the hand
    • No fake nails
  • Hair is to be pulled back and secured
  • Your coach will give you a specific schedule for practice apparel which all athletes will be expected to follow

TNT Cheer will be closed the following dates:

  • Sunday, May 27th and Monday, May 28th: Memorial Day
  • Sunday, June 17th: Father’s Day
  • Sunday, July 1st – Thursday, July 5th: 4th of July
  • Sunday, September 2nd and Monday, September 3rd: Labor Day
  • Sunday, November 4th: Iowa Showdown
  • Thursday, November 22nd: Thanksgiving
  • Sunday, December 2nd: TBD Competition
  • Sunday, December 23rd – Tuesday, January 1st: Holiday Break
  • Sunday, January 13th: GLCC Cornhusker Nationals Competition
  • Sunday, February 10th: TBD Competition
  • Sunday, March 17th – Thursday, March 21st: Spring Break
